Update: The book is finished! The editing team is hard at work correcting my horrible mix of tenses! Their reactions so far are very reassuring and serve to not only increase my excitement, but also confirm my conviction that this is a delightful and much needed story.
Next step...to find a talented illustrator who can bring these characters to life; depicting their true charm and whimsy. While I realize publishers can provide illustrators, this wonderful world in my head needs the talented hand of an artist to become intimately familiar with them. Of course, we all want to drive a "Bently" on a "Aveo" budget so, alas, I may be forced to forgo this control but I have not, as yet, given up hope!
A tiny beam of light was inspired through a love of Christmas and all it represents. I know there is a Santa Claus and personally house the elves every year in support of their Christmas Eve journey. I could no longer quiet the call for this tale to be told so I have put my pen to paper to craft the imagery in my head.
As our lives evolve so too may our Christmas's change in its design. But, as faithful as a good friend and as constant as the North star, that one day on the 25th of December, while transient, is an energy, a light, that will remain with us throughout the year.
The goal is to have this story published and presented for your enjoyment and my greatest hope is to have Tom Hanks produce it true to form as he did "The Polar Express". While the story is not the same, the charm will rival...to be sure!!!
Stay tuned!
If you know Tom Hanks or Rita Wilson, help us out, they will be enchanted!
Update:
Life has thrown us quite the curve, we have lost many members of our family in the last 3 years so I have not worked on this project at all but 2018 will be the year!
